Webster National Night Out

The United Way’s Webster, Bienville, Claiborne Center in Minden hosts more than a hundred residents at National Night Out each year. The event is a community effort designed to heighten awareness for drug and crime prevention, strengthen neighborhood and police relationships.

Nearly 20 nonprofits participate to raise awareness of their cause and provide community resources. Services have also included David Raines Community Health Center providing free health screenings and Walgreens giving free flu shots.

Representatives from the Louisiana State Parole and Prevention Center are on hand providing free ink fingerprinting services. Other vendors have included Goodwill, Bank On of NWLA, Walgreens, Aime Hospice Care, Joe LeBlanc Food Pantry, and more.

Sponsors make the event possible each year. The sponsors for 2016 were Webb Family Medicine, United Healthcare, Richland State Bank, Aime Hospice, Anti Pest and Veitch, Blow’s Photography, Wimberly Agency, Young Women’s Service Club, Jeff McBride-Realtor and Living Word Worship Center.
