WHAT IS DAY OF CARING?
Every year, United Way of Northwest Louisiana calls on its community for its largest, one-day volunteer event of the year, Day of Caring. More than 600 volunteers from local businesses committed to making a difference in the communities where they live and work participate in our day of giving back. A volunteer team of 5-15 people is partnered with a nonprofit agency to complete a project that the organization may not have the manpower or financial resources to hire outside help to complete. That’s where volunteers come in; United Way will recruit, organize, and prepare volunteers at no expense to the nonprofits.
DAY OF CARING 2023
Our most impactful event of the year returns May 24, with several volunteer projects set to take place all over our community! Day of Caring: Volunteer for the Gold is our most ambitious Day of Caring yet. We need all hands on deck to assemble 1,500 essential needs kits, maintain 8 community gardens, clean up 10 communities, create 5 Born Learning Trails, and complete 27 projects for our local nonprofit friends.
A pep rally breakfast will be held at the Bossier City Civic Center before projects begin, and an afterparty will be held at the same location to celebrate your impact. United Way will provide lunch at the afterparty, and guests can enjoy music and karaoke by Treetop Entertainment, games, raffle prizes, and more!

DAY OF CARING TEAMs CAPTAIN MEETING – March 28
Day of Caring volunteer team captains must attend the Teams Captain Meeting on March 28 at the American Red Cross Brau Building from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. During the meeting, team captains will receive details on their team’s assigned volunteer project and learn what to expect. United Way will provide lunch.

RAFFLE PRIZE PRE-SALE
