Director of Donor Relations
Jennifer Terrell is the Director of Donor Relations for United Way of Northwest Louisiana. Her responsibilities include managing the Donor Relations team, bringing awareness to United Way’s mission, coordinating and executing fundraising campaigns to underwrite programs, and strengthening and nurturing donor relationships.
Jennifer grew up in Norwich, Connecticut and attended college in Providence, Rhode Island where she earned her degree in Culinary Arts at Johnson and Wales University. After working up and down the east coast, she moved to Louisiana in 1991 and began working for the Petroleum Club of Shreveport as the Director of Catering. Jennifer was promoted to General Manager in 2013 and remained at the Club until 2023. Her 31 years at the Club allowed her to learn and develop many skills, including building and maintaining client relationships, connecting people and services, creating engagement opportunities, organizing experiences that nurture community, and managing a board.
Jennifer became familiar with United Way of Northwest Louisiana while serving on the 2019 Campaign Cabinet. A few years later, her friend encouraged her to consider applying for the Director of Donor Relations position; now, she’s an official member of the United Way family.
A few of Jennifer’s favorite things include southern hospitality, all things food, and a good party. She is passionate about people and feels she is at her best when she is serving others. Jennifer believes service is what life is all about, and the work we do is love made visible.
