Vice President of Operations & Community Investments
Jennifer Horton serves as our Vice President of Operations and Community Investments. She oversees our internal procedures, as well as our impact work through an annual competitive grant process, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and FamilyWize. She also provides leadership and oversight to our volunteer programs.
Jennifer made her start in the nonprofit industry when she worked as the Resource and Volunteer Coordinator at Providence House. Seeing firsthand the needs of the community, she became driven to make a difference through her daily work and to create a positive impact on her community. She currently serves as President of the Northwest Louisiana Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) association. She was instrumental in coordinating volunteers and donors that provided clothing and other essential items to hundreds of Hurricane Harvey evacuees sheltered in Northwest Louisiana in 2017.
Jennifer is originally from Alexandria, LA and made Shreveport her home in 2011. She and her husband, Brandon, have three children together. Jennifer is happiest when she is spending time with her family. She and Brandon both share a love of baseball and are loyal Texas Rangers fans. They are patiently waiting on a World Series win.
