HOW WE DO IT

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library supplies books to children from birth to five years old. Books are mailed to their homes monthly. Available in 71064, 71103, 71106, 71109, 71111, 71112 zip codes and all of Natchitoches Parish.

The facts: 45% more books were distributed to children in 2016, for a total of 8,469 books mailed in 2016.

When a child has access to books, their world becomes larger and their imagination soars. They are better prepared for school and better prepared for life. Research shows that the number of books in a child’s home is significantly linked to reading scores. The more books, the better the score.
Books are delivered directly to the child’s home – one per month – until he’s 5 years old. By the time he goes to kindergarten, he’ll have his own library full of wonderful worlds and far-off places.
