NOTES OF ENCOURAGEMENT VOLUNTEERING

Notes of encouragement are an easy way to give back to our community by uplifting our youngest students as they prepare to enter kindergarten! This volunteer opportunity is open to individual volunteers and workplaces year-round.

Volunteers will write notes of encouragement for our Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library graduates. The Imagination Library provides books to children from birth to age five at no cost to the children’s families to enhance kindergarten readiness. These notes of encouragement will help foster excitement and a love for learning in our Imagaination Library graduates and give them the support and confidence they need to enter grade school.

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must commit to one hour of volunteering minimum and complete a minimum of 20 cards.
  • Must create personalized notes of encouragement to inspire and uplift recent Imagination Library graduates. These notes should be genuine and kind. Additionally, they must adhere to the guidelines set forth by United Way of Northwest Louisiana, such as word limits, specific themes, etc.
  • Must purchase the supplies to write and decorate the notes of encouragement
