Literacy League: A United Way Reading Initiative
The Literacy League is a new United Way of Northwest Louisiana initiative seeking volunteers who are eager to work with children twice a month on literacy-based activities. Each volunteer will be paired with one child between the ages of 4-6 attending Caddo Heights Math/Science Elementary.
During each session, a volunteer will work with a student on campus for an hour out of the school day, providing them with literacy-based activities to improve their reading ability. United Way will supply all of the materials needed for each volunteer session.
Once we obtain the number of volunteers needed, you will be contacted by our Director of Community Impact, Raavin Evans, to schedule a volunteer training. If you are interested in volunteering, please click the button to complete the form below. If you have any questions about this volunteer opportunity, please contact Raavin Evans at 318-606-6592 or by email at raavin@unitedwaynwla.org.
All volunteers must be able to commit to volunteering for the remainder of the 2023 school year.
