United Way of Northwest Louisiana, in coordination with the Caddo Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, is awaiting a delivery of pallets of water from the National Guard to be distributed to families in need as a result of the winter storm crisis. We will be in need of volunteers to help distribute the water once it is delivered.

Update: The pallets of water were delivered to Shreveport by the National Guard on Sunday, February 20th.

The pallets are expected to be delivered sometime between February 21 – February 27. The volunteer sites are tentatively located in Shreveport. Volunteers will receive specifics as information becomes available to United Way staff. Water has also been donated by local businesses and citizens during the crisis, and our volunteers may be needed to distribute this water as well.

Volunteers will be on stand-by as we assess the need for volunteers at distribution sites across the city. Stand-by volunteers are crucial so that water can quickly be distributed to families as water becomes available.

All details are subject to change as we receive information from water distribution organizers, and the National Guard. United Way staff will update volunteers as changes occur and more information becomes available.

This page has been updated with the most recent information as of 2/22/21.
