To support and strengthen the leadership of United Way of Northwest Louisiana (UWNWLA), the UWNWLA Nominating Committee is inviting applications and nominations of individuals for election to the Board of Directors for the 2023-2024 term.

The Commitment of Board Members
The term of the Board appointment is two years and may be renewable for a second term. The Board consists of up to 35 directors and the Board meets every fourth Wednesday of the month (except July and December). Directors also expected to attend UWNWLA annual events. Board members also serve on committees that meet between Board meetings.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Approve an annual budget to finance the organization
- Approve all organizational policies
- Provide the personal leadership, enthusiasm and support necessary to help coordinate and build an effective organization
- Help to broaden the financial resources of the organization
- Project a professional and positive image when representing UWNWLA
- Ensure that UWNWLA programs, projects and activities are consistent with the mission statement and interests of our members
Desired Skills and Competencies
In 2023, the Nomination Committee will be seeking new directors for the 2023-2024 term with one or more of the following skills and competencies:
- Financial management, HR, IT, Legal, and Business Operations
- Marketing, fundraising, and philanthropy
- Policy, government relations
- Entrepreneurship and innovation experience
