JENNIFER HORTON
Jennifer Horton serves as our Community Engagement Coordinator and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Volunteer Center. In an effort to improve lives in Northwest Louisiana, Jennifer connects volunteers in the community with agencies and organizations who need an extra hand. She does this by keeping our volunteer platform, JustServe, filled with the most up to date opportunities and also by coordinating projects that allow our corporate partners to engage in community service. Additionally, Jennifer oversees Imagination Library, a free early literacy program for children ages birth to five years old.
Jennifer is no stranger to the nonprofit world. She previously worked for Providence House as their Resource and Volunteer Coordinator. Seeing firsthand the needs of the community, she became driven to create an impact through volunteerism and service. Her husband shares those same passions and has served on the board for Young People in Recovery, a national nonprofit organization that provides tools and support for those seeking recovery.
Jennifer is originally from Alexandria, LA. She has also lived in Austin and Houston, TX. She moved to Shreveport in 2011 and lives with her husband, Brandon, and children. Jennifer is happiest when she is spending time with her family. She also enjoys running and Sunday car rides. She and Brandon both share a love of baseball and are loyal Texas Rangers fans. They are patiently waiting on a World Series win.
