(Shreveport, LA) –United Way of Northwest Louisiana has successfully completed all of the 2019 United Way Worldwide membership requirements by their respective due dates. United Way Worldwide maintains strict membership requirements, holding all local United Ways to rigorous accountability and transparency standards.
The “Membership Requirements Completed” icon on this website indicates the completion of all reporting requirements for United Way Worldwide and have been granted membership in the international organization. Categories reviewed include fiscal responsibility, governance, campaign policies/success, and community investments. The UWNWLA board reviewed and approved the membership requirements certification during the previous quarter.
“It is important for us to maintain high standards of accountability, and this is part of the process to confirm that our operations are transparent and meet or exceed membership requirements,” said 2019 United Way Board Chairman, John Schmidt. “The membership requirements must be certified annually in order for us to remain a member of United Way Worldwide.”

UWNWLA is part of a network of nearly 1,200 United Ways in the U.S. For nearly 100 years, United Way of Northwest Louisiana has improved lives of individuals in our community. The organization fights for the education, health, and financial stability and essential needs. United Way of Northwest Louisiana serves agencies throughout a ten parish region, and operates a dozen internal human service programs.
