Community Leader Dr. Phillip Rozeman will be the featured speaker August 25

(Shreveport, LA) – The United Way of Northwest Louisiana will host the 2016 Workplace Campaign Kickoff Luncheon August 25 at Sam’s Town Casino and Hotel.  The event includes business leaders, community volunteers, pacesetter companies, and city and government officials as United Way commences the new campaign. More than 250 people attend the event each year. Doors open at 11:30am.

 

Dr. Phillip Rozeman will be the featured speaker for the event to inspire the audience to change the story. He is a business leader, nonprofit founder, Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board, and a community service leader.

 

A native of Shreveport, he has been a practicing cardiologist in Northwest Louisiana since 1984. Dr. Rozeman has been a pioneer in his field and active in numerous civic and professional organizations. He led the charge in helping establish the first smoking ordinance, led the effort to supply medical services to evacuees of Hurricane Katrina and Rita.

 

He has received several honors from many organizations including the Louisiana Department of Education, Louisiana Association of Educators, Blue Cross of Louisiana, American Lung Association of Louisiana, American Cancer Society, multiple Chambers and United Ways across the state.

Last year, through the United Way Workplace Campaign, more than 15,000 individual donors, 800 businesses, and 2,800 hours of volunteer service were contributed to our community. More than $2.3M was raised last year and 93 programs were supported and over 100,000 lives will be changed this year due to the campaign.
